Way Past Time

Well it is way past time for a new post. I'm sure there aren't that many people out there that like to read about my boring life, but I enjoy writing about it for some crazy reason. Anyway it's been a month since my last post and things seem to be going just fine! Okay this is way off of the subject of this and that, but have you ever had those things that make you laugh, and laugh, and laugh and then every time you think about it you laugh again. Well that just happened to me there was a customer that came in our office and he was going to different places for interviews in a suit with no tie and a baseball cap. I know it doesn't sound too funny to you reading this it really was to me--but know that laughter is gone and I have a headache from the lack of oxygen from laughing too hard. Oh me sometimes little things are just so so funny.

Well let's see what has been going on around these parts? Well we had our tree of praise on December the 2nd and we all really enjoyed that--it is fun to sit back and listen to others testimony about a Christmas tree ornament. I love it. Then last night was our Ladies Church Christmas Party. We had a great time there. We had more food than anyone could eat, but we had a great time exchanging gifts and with 3 short devotionals. I really enjoy this time of year for the most part. It seems that we always have a little spat around this time of year and this year has been no exception. At times I just get so aggravated they just seem to know how to "rub" you the wrong way! I know I'm not 100% blameless, but I just hate to be in a foul mood during the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year"!

It seems that I'm running out of things to say. Oh by the way does anyone have any suggestions on how to make a 6 year old pay attention when you are doing homework. My son does pretty well in school, but hates homework and always wants to play around when it's time to focus. Hmmm--I just don't know what to do. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Well I'm sure I'll not make another post until after Christmas, so Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!!

Well I didn't put a title because I wasn't sure what to title this one. I seem to write about so much stuff that a title only tells a small portion of what I type about so I'm leaving a title off this one. Any way I hope all of you are doing well out in Blog land--I've been doing fine. Life is still busy around here and I don't expect it to let up anytime soon either. Maybe things will slow down after the first...the first of 2008 that it. You know who would have thought that after that old y2k think that we would still be on this earth some eight years later? I for one thought we would be in heaven by now praising the Saviour throughout eternity, but it's not God's time yet. But soon and very soon we are going to see the king. I want to be in that Number don't you? This Sunday night please be in prayer for me, I'm preaching for our Sunday Evening service and I want to make sure that I find the will of the Lord for the service. I assume we will have may out hunting, but God knows exactly who will be there and who will not so just say a prayer that I find the complete will of God. I want to follow Him in whatever path He may lead me. I don't want to preach my own ideals or opinions because my own ideals and opinions aren't worth much~~ we know the old saying that Opinions are like noses we all have one and I want to preach just what God would have me too.
Well I'm guessing I need to get off here--I'm posting from work--no we are not working on a Saturday, but I needed a customer to come in and sign some forms so I made arraignments to meet them here. I was 10 minutes late which they didn't care because the just used the time to run next door and get a hair cut so it worked out great. So know I'm going home to clean up our yard--it is a horrible mess!!! We had a new roof put on this week and I'm sure some of you know what a mess that is to clean up, but oh well our new roof looks GREAT!!!

Have a good weekend folks!

It's Time...

...For a new post that is. It's been a few days since I have posted and I can't say that much has really happened. Our VLB's went to Judgement House this past weekend and it was wonderful as always. I'm telling you---it may not be The Church of God, but they put this production on as close to the Bible as possible and do not try to influence you in anyway to change your religion or anything of that nature. They don't use the KJV Bible but other than that it's great. I don't know how it is in other parts of the US, but here in Jonesboro it's great.

Well our Sunday School superintendent made his appointments for the year and I'm again Young Adult SS Teacher. I enjoy being a SS teacher, but I really want your prayers this year. I want to be all that God would have me be. I want to study my lesson even more and dig deep into the word of God this year. Just not for the class, but for me, because I need it. I need to dig deeper into the word of God. I don't want to just skim the surface, but I want to dig deep into the word of God and learn all I can. I feel that there is a need to be prepared for whatever may come our way--whether it is using the word to defeat the devil or as a tool for witnessing I want to dig deep and learn what I can and hide the words of God in my heart. You know my prayer is "Jesus use me and Oh Lord don't refuse me". No matter the task at hand I want to be a willing servant to the Master and be a servant after Gods own heart. A heart that is pleasing to Him in ALL Things! I wan to be humble and mold able in the palms of God my Creator. I want Him to be the Center of my life! I want myself to fade into the background so that people can see Jesus thru me. I want the Joy of the Lord to shine upon my face---I don't want to loose the Joy of the Lord--satan would love to steal our Joy--the Joy of the Lord is my strength!!

Hmmm--Well I guess I've posted all that's on my heart. I hope that everyone has a great Wednesday Night---

Love you All and God Bless!

HELLO!

Well it's been a few days since I've posted. Not too much has changed. Still Busy with the Lords work, but what better way to be busy than working for Him. I've been preaching more here lately than I have in a while! I preached last Sunday Night and this past weekend I preached for the Morning Service. That made me a little more nervous because it was the largest number I had preached to in a LONG time, but with God's Help I made it thru. I'm really enjoying letting the Lord use me however He See's fit! I hope that makes sense? I enjoy allowing the Lord to use me--I never would have thought in a million years that God would call me to Preach, but He did and I've learned to trust Him and allow Him to guide and direct my path even though I may not understand it at times. I remember, I guess it's been about two years ago when the Lord first began to deal with me about the calling He had for me and I was so scared that maybe it wasn't really Him, the devil will lie to you ya know. I feared "getting into self" more than anything in part because of the way that I've been taught. I remember thinking that surely it wasn't really what God wanted and maybe I had just imagined it all, but then one day the Lord gave me a scripture to read and that scripture was a conformation that indeed He had called me. Still even with that I began to doubt a time or two, but again God confirmed by the way of a stranger that I had truly been called by God and not by any other means but Him! I'm not sure why I said all of that, but I'm sure God does. Maybe their is someone out there that God is calling and they are second guessing that calling I don't know, but when God called my name I had to obey--howbeit that it took me months to confirm it, but I did obey and I've had a peace about it since.

So what else is going on. As I said in my last post it's a busy time of year----Our Ol' Fashioned Day went GREAT! It was a fun day filled with Food and great fellowship. Last night we had our Band Service--we had a great time. Then Friday Night is our Youth Outing to The Judgement House. We have sort of made a tradition out of going there. It's a great eye opener especially for our Younger Youth! Want to know more about it and find one near you go to http://www.judgementhouse.org/ it's a great thing in this area and it is free--that helps when you are taking about 20+ people with you. After Judgement House the Youth are going out to eat Hopefully that is.----Then we have our Harvest Festival Saturday Night and I think it is going to be a Blast! We just had an activity director appointed and she is doing a fantastic job I'm so excited to see all the games and such that she has in store.

Well I guess I need to get back to work. We are about to take out boss out for lunch since we missed Boss's day last week because he was out hunting. Anyway I need to get off here.

Bye!

Busy, Busy Time of year!

Well I guess that this is one of the busiest time of year for me. Between Church, Church, and well Church and somewhere in there ranks Family and last work. Work is laid back and pretty easy for the most part, but still it's work and we are busy trying to make a hard push to end out a strong year in the insurance arena. This is a busy time for us at Church too--This past weekend was the Rice Festival and our Church sets up a booth with food and snacks for sale, oddly enough not one thing on our menu has rice in it though. (Hmmm that might be an idea for next year) Anyway we ended up raising about $1500.00 which will greatly help in paying for our insurance this year. Praise God! Well let's back track a little. Friday Night (10/12/07) we went to Little Rock to the Alltel Arena to see the Christian Contemprary group "Casting Crowns" then we didn't get home until 3am and had to be up early the next morning for the Rice Festival. Then I preached Sunday Night and then this Saturday in our Carwash for the Youth and then Old Fashioned Sunday and potluck for Pastor Appreciation Month and then the 26th we are going to The Judgement House and then Saturday is our fall festival and then November we start getting ready for the Christmas play and all that good stuff so--anyway Busy is the word!

Well I need to get back to work!

Toodles! Beth

Hmmm...

Well I don't know what to Blog about???

Well Brother Honeycutt made the appointments for 2007-2008 and I've got the same appointments this year as last. VLB Leader and Song Leader. One thing is for sure I am going to put my assistants to work this year!!! So if you are out there get ready to work!--Not too hard I don't think, but it is going to take us all to make this a very successful year. Especially the Youth Life team and the Youth Track team....I'm excited about the upcoming year and can't wait to see what God has in store for us. We've just came out of a great week and a half revival---11 Night's worth of great blessings from God. At times I thought that there was no way I could contain all that God was giving us. My cup truly ran over during this revival. God has been so good to us! Well I guess this is long enough to count as a post so I guess I better get off here so I can get back to work!

Have a great day!

Sis. Beth

Oh what a Mighty God

That is about all I can say about the wonderful Revival that we are in with Sis. Betty Bishop. My how God is blessing us! We've had so far 3 saved, 2 sanctified, 3 filled with the Holy Ghost and 1 healing. PRAISE BE TO GOD! I can't explain how great it is to see souls saved--a know so salvation. You can see it on their face when the get up from the alter--that old fashioned "glow" is all around them. One young lady last night said I'm just so happy and that it felt like a bolt of electricity had hit her and she just could not be still. Praise God for what He is doing. God so desires a vessel that is ready and willing to be used by the master. Oh how great is our God. He knows how to give good gifts to His children. God has definitely opened the windows of Heaven and allowed a blessing to come down oh how wonderful it is to feel the power of God move thru the place. I wish words could tell just how great this revival has been---we have come out every night EXPECTING a move from God and He has not disappointed us yet!

Ahh The Assembly

Ahh---it has been so long since I've posted and so much has happened. My surgery went well as far as we can tell and I truly appreciate all the prayers that were prayed.

We were able to get in a few sessions of the Assembly and boy am I thankful that I was able to attend. It was a great blessing and you could feel the spirit of the Lord moving during each session. God greatly blessed all that attended. I have thought and thought of what was my favorite part of the Assembly and I must say that of course the VLB program is always a favorite, however I enjoyed Bro. Odell's message just as well. It may have stepped on some toes, but that's okay it is time for The Church of God to BE The Church of God! We can't take the Advice to Members as just advice any longer--it's words that we should live by and take it and live it like The Church of God should!

I also enjoyed the VLB workshop. It was the first time I had gotten to attended and I'm glad I did. We have some great things coming to us from our General VLB Coordinator and I'm very excited about the work in the VLB Department this year!

Harrisburg VLB's get ready to work and win souls this year!!!

I also enjoyed all the singing and boy Mrs. Kasey Broyles did a wonderful job singing "People Need the Lord" during the Evangelism/Healing service. God has given her a wonderful voice and she's using it for him. I'm so glad to see young people using their talents for the Lord.

Well I guess that's all for now--I hope everyone had a safe trip back from the Assembly and a great Labor Day weekend.

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, there will always be sunshine, after the rain .... Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall, But God's always ready, To answer your call ... He knows every heartache, sees every tear, A word from His lips, can calm every fear ... Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night, But suddenly vanish, in dawn's early light ... The Savior is waiting, somewhere above, To give you His grace, and send you His love .. Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, "God always sends rainbows .... after the rain ... "

Let Your Light So Shine Before Men (EVERYONE is watching)

An honest man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a busy
boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him.
He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he
could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.
The tailgating woman hit the roof--and the horn--screaming in frustration
as she missed her chance to get through the intersection.
As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked
up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer
ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police
station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed and placed
in a holding cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached
the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk
where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.
He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up
behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in
front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'Choose Life'
license plate holder, the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the
'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated
Christian fish emblem on the trunk. ..........

Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car."

Remember everyone is watching us.
Priceless!

Stressful Month

Well where to begin. The month of July has been a really rough month for me. I've had so much happen that I don't know whether I'm coming or going! That's not an exaggeration either. On the 8th my grandmother passed away. It was a great shock to all of us considering she'd not been sick or anything. Then the end of that week we lost a great person from our church who was 81 I think. He'd suffered for a while so we were expecting his passing and grateful that we knew he had made things right between he and Christ. Then on the 15th of July I noticed a pretty large mass in my lower abdominal area that was very sore to the touch and my whole lower abdomen was yellow from internal bleeding. (not as bad as it sounds here) I made an appointment with my Doctor and after three unltrasounds that were cery painful they found that I have a very rare endometioma. So rare that they have only seen one other patient in the whole office with this type. (I always knew I was an odd ball !) So anyway this needs to be reomoved soon. They've schedualed surgery for August 7th at 7:30 AM. I'm really scared and could really use some prayers for the next few weeks. I hate hospitals especially when I'm the patient. I'll be off work for two weeks or so I'm told and only have to spend 1 night in the hospital so that will not be too bad, but bad enough. SO if you read this before the 7th please have a prayer for me!!!

Thanks Guys and Gals!

I guess it's Time !

Well I guess it is time that I post again--I've gotten pretty relaxed about not posting, but I need to. I enjoy it when I have time, but time isn't always easy to come by especially these last three weeks. We've been really busy between church and work that we've barley had time to keep things picked up around the house--my house has been a little in disarray. Anyway I guess that's a different story---We had a great couples day--we had about 20 in attendance all together and had a great time in the Lord and also a great time of fun and games.

Oh let's see what else had been going on? I had a great birthday (6/23) my loving husband gave me a surprise birthday party although it wasn't much of a surprise considering that he's done that for the last two or three years always at the same place--PIZZA HUT--that's the only cheap place that can handle about 10-15 people and kids! We had a great time though! Then the 26Th we celebrated out 8 year anniversary! It's hard to believe that it's been 8 long tough years :) no really it's been eight years, but not long and hard--We've had our good and bad times, but the good definitely out weigh the bad.

Now on to more recent events. We just finished up our Regional Convention (Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, E. Texas) We had a great time in the Lord and a great time getting to know the Oklahoma and E. Texas people--Oh how I love to fellowship with the saints of God. We had a great time during our VLB service and we had several experiences and the Lord moved in a mighty mighty way! You could feel the power of God sweep through the place.

Now onto a little funnier story---

My son has decided he's an adult (he's really 6)--I should say maybe he is 14 stuck in a 6 year old body! HA--He's been so funny latley--This weekend he was great. He found a 13 or 14 year old girl that he just fell in Love with and I use the word love lightly here--He asked me Friday night if she was to old for him and I told him that yeah 6 or 7 years difference is a bit much. Then he wanted to know if he could marry her when he was 13---What's wrong with my son---He's already girl crazy and he's 6---dear Lord help me when he's say uh 10---He'll really be a handful then. Anyway all during the convention he thought that he had to se her at least twice every day--boy he was in heaven so he thought. He was really disapointed at the times when she didn't notice him. He made friends with a few 16 year olds and I'm not sure that's such a great Idea either. At one point he came to me and said mom I'm going with Brett--I'll see ya later--HA---He was seeing if I was really listening---yes I was and no he wasn't going with Brett!! He's been great all weekend, but he still doesn't understand that he is only SIX not SIXTEEN---Boy I'm sure I'm gonna be in trouble when he reaches those teenage years!!!!

Well I need to go--must get back to work! Hope you all have a great week!!!

COUPLES DAY

YOU ARE INVITED TO COUPLES DAY

When: June 23, 2007
Where: Harrisburg, Ar The Church of God
Time: 9:30 AM

Come expecting a great time in the Lord! This will be like a camp day so wear some comfy shoes and clothing. There will be a time for Fun and a time for Classes about how a Godly marriage should operate. We are expecting to have a great time!

Is it Friday Yet?

That's how I feel---This has been one LONG week for me. It seems like this has been just a really slow week, but praise the Lord it's almost over. We had a great service last Sunday Night, it's wonderful when the Holy Ghost falls during song service and blesses and blesses His children. After service Paydon was talking to some of us and he said "I could feel something all over me from my head to my toes" we all smiles and told Him that it was the Holy Ghost and he was excited and now wants the Holy Ghost even more. He's praying about being Baptised this Sunday so if you read this before then please Say a prayer for Him. He knows he needs to and that it's something that Jesus has commanded, but he's still a little boy and a bit scared of being immersed in water, so just say a prayer that all his fears will be erased. Well I guess that's really about all I have to say. I know it's a little short, but short is better than nothing!!

Well enjoy the rest of the week and have a wonderful weekend!

Where as the time gone?

OH my goodness where has the time gone? I can't believe it's been almost a month since I've blogged. So many things have happened since May 4th that I'm not sure where to begin. The biggest news to report is that my kindergartner is now a first grader. I'll try to post a few photos later--we'll see how that works out.

Well we made it through Memorial Day weekend with no problems. We got the pleasure of spending some time with some of our wonderful church members on Sunday afternoon and they cooked a wonderful dinner for us of steak, burgers, and ribs and all the trimmings---it was wonderful!

Yesterday Paydon had a dental appointment which went very well! He did great. He had one pulled and two fillings, so he was a true trooper!

Are You Ready for the Weekend?

Boy I know I am! I've dealt with a sick boy this week and I'm ready for some old fashioned R & R. I'm sure none of that will be found, but just being home with my family is R & R.

I want to thank the Lord for answering prayers, He's always just a prayer away. Wednesday we got a call from the school nurse to tell us that Paydon was having an asthma attack and that we needed to come pick him up so I left work and rushed to Trumann to pick him up and sure enough it was pretty rough. I've dealt with that before so I didn't worry too much until he started to really complain that he was hurting bad on his right side sort of under his rib cage. He was really crying and holding his side and I was really worried that he had appendicitis. He had begun to run a fever and I didn't know what to do. I called the Doctors office, which was no help, they told me to watch him and see how he was in a few hours and it didn't get better to take him to Urgent Care. Well that didn't help me any. I called my husband almost in hysterics wanting him to leave work and come home and we both thought it was his appendix by now. I was really concerned and knew that I didn't have the money for a emergency room visit. Then God hit me upside the head, not really but should have, and told me to PRAY. So pray I did and prayed, and prayed. Then the Lord told me to sing, I Claim the Blood. So I began to sing.

I claim the blood Jesus shed on Calvary. Those precious blood stains were made there just for me. For all my sin my SICKNESS and my pain, when I need healing I claim those precious Blood stains.

Within the hour the pain was gone and he's not said anything about it since. I've passed it off as gas pains today, but why--Sometimes I think we pass healing with a well it must not have been that, and are afraid to step out on faith and claim healing, but I Claim the Blood of Jesus and believe that God healed him Wednesday! PRAISE THE LORD!

I hope you all have a great weekend! I hope that you all have record attendance in your Sunday School Class and I hope that the Lord moves and blesses your local church in a mighty, mighty way this weekend.

Fire, Fire fall on me. Fire, Fire, Fire, fire fall on me. Like on the day of Pentecost fire fall on me! Just like on the day of Pentecost fire fall on me! Talking about Fire--Fire fall on Me!

This is my prayer for you all this weekend. Dear God let the fire of the Holy Ghost fall at each of our Churches worldwide this weekend and bless Your people abundantly! Open the windows of heaven and fill Your house with your Glory!

I hope you all have a blessed weekend~~Until I type again God Bless You ALL!

Not Sure...

Well I'm not really sure what to title this, but a title doesn't mean much anyway so oh well--

Well today I was in my car eating lunch as I do most days during the week and I was at Sonic and had ordered my lunch and was enjoying that and some good clean gospel music on our local radio station. I love to people watch so I was just watching people and how they react and do and there was a lady across the way and she was just chewing this little car hop us one side and down the other. The car hop was in a state of shock and I felt so sorry for her. I know the Bible says that we can be angry as long as we don't sin, but this lady was teetering on the edge. I just hate to see people get chewed up. You know even if my orders wrong and whatever I want to always try to be nice. It's wasn't the car hops fault no matter the case and I just really felt sorry for her I guess. Let us remember to SMILE today--no matter what comes our way just SMILE and remember that someone else may be worse off than you, so just SMILE and be polite. We are Christians you know, that means CHRIST like!

Funny, but Thought Provoking Quotes

—“The early church fasted and prayed, today's church prays fast.”—Joe Lewis

—“The greatest of all disorders is to think we are whole and need no help.”—Thomas Wilson

—“The way to bliss lies not on beds of down, and he that has no cross deserves no crown.” —Francis Quarles

—“Why not get out on a limb for Jesus? That's where all the fruit is!” — unknown

—"Courage is fear that has said its prayers."

—“The truth that makes men free is for the most part the truth which men prefer not to hear.”—Herbert Agar

—“Worship helps people see God in the midst of their troubled lives.”—Paul Anderson

—“The best way to prepare for the coming of Christ is never to forget the presence of Christ.”—William Barclay

I hope these make you stop and think!

Again Hope you have a great day!

Honest Hyms

Is this the way we would sing these well-known hymns–if we were honest.

I Surrender Some

There Shall Be Sprinkles of Blessings

Fill My Spoon, Lord

Oh, How I Like Jesus

He’s Quite a Bit to Me

I Love to Talk About Telling the Story

Take My Life and Let Me Be

It is My Secret What God Can Do

There is Scattered Cloudiness in My Soul Today

Onward, Christian Reserves

Where He Leads Me, I Will Consider Following

Just As I Pretend to Be

When the Saints Go Sneaking In

My prayer today is that we don't sing these songs with these thoughts attached.

I hope you all had a great weekend full of blessings from the Lord.

For all of you that are commenting I appreciate it so very much keep it up! I do visit your blogs often, I just don't comment too much, but I'm trying to get better at it. Again thanks and God Bless you all!

Hmmm...

Well I'm just really trying to figure out what to post today. I'm sure something has happened, but not sure what. This blogging thing can get addictive if you let it. I've noticed that it's a great way to get to know other people in the Church that live out of state. I'm sure it's a great blessing to some that are part of smaller youth groups as well! It's nice to know that there are youth in other areas that are there to help when we need them. We are not all isolated bodies, we are all part of The Church of God, The Bride of Christ!

I also need some help--I need someone that knows something about blogs to help me make mine a little more, well me. I like the template that I have, but would like something a little different that makes this my space and a reflection of me. IF you are willing to help me I'm willing to try to learn, the key there is that I'll TRY to learn. I'm not computer illiterate, but I'm sure not a genius like some of the other blogs I've seen. If you're willing to help please leave a comment and your e-mail address and I'll get in touch with you. ~~Thanks~~

What a mighty God we serve, What a mighty God we serve. We serve a mighty God a Mighty, Mighty, God, Oh what a mighty God we serve!

Your Son For A Quarter

Several years ago, a new preacher moved to Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, "You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it." Then he thought, "Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount. Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet." When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, "Here, you gave me too much change." The driver with a smile replied, "Aren't you the new preacher in town? I have been thinking lately about going to worship somewhere. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday." When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, "Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter."

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really almost scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and will put us to the test. Always be on guard and remember (as I try to remember) that you carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself "Christian."

Our Choir

I'm just trying my hand at putting pictures on this blog thing so I hope it works.

This is a picture of our Choir in Harrisburg--we got the opportunity not long ago to sing at Heaven Bound Fish House in Bebe Arkansas. We had a really good time of fellowship while there. We were also able to sing at our Youth Convention this past weekend which we also enjoyed. We don't try to sing to entertain we sing to give glory to God.

Well I've not got much to say today, just thankful that the Lord saw fit to let me wake up this morning and go to work and for keeping me safe thus far.

Remember to read your Bibles daily, it's just like food in the natural, it's food for the spiritual and without food you will starve to death!

Sunday Night's Service

Well again here I am with another post. Yes it is intentional. I want to also say I thank the Lord for what He is doing in out local church in Harrisburg. He's raising up a might army of young people and gleaners that desire to be all that God would have them be. It blesses my soul so very much to see our children seeking God for what they need. I thank the Lord that I can now add two more to our list of sanctified VLB's--Praise the Lord, the old man is dead! Let us all pray for these two over the coming weeks. Sanctification doesn't mean that there will be no temptation, but with every temptation you over come you will be stronger in the Lord. Resist the Devil and he must flee. I hope to soon add even more experiences to our list of Youth. I desire for each one of our VLBS to be Saves, Sanctified, Holy Ghost filled, and a member of The Church of God. Let all pray for one another this week and pray that God will continue to pour out His blessing upon The Church of God. Let's pray for our backsliding youth as well that God begin to work in their hearts and lives and save them before it's too late.

Again I say PRAISE THE LORD.

Youth Convention

I just want to start off by saying Praise the Lord for an absolutely wonderful Youth Convention! I praise God for what He is doing among our young people. God is raising up a band of young people and gleaners that desire to be used of God and are willing to surrender unto Him. The Lord moved in a mighty way--I praise the Lord for the Holy Ghost message that was given out telling us that Time is near--The coming of the Lord is closer that we can even imagine. We must work while it is day for the night is coming when work will cease. I thank the Lord for each message that was preached. Bro. Horton did a wonderful job and he blessed my soul--What have I to give was the title of his first message taken from the book of Acts where the lame man sat by the gate called Beautiful and Peter and John said Silver and Gold have I none but such as I have give I thee Rise up and walk. They didn't have silver or gold, but had something much more precious. They had the power from the Holy Ghost. I just praise the Lord for all that He did for our young people. I enjoyed getting to meet our Church members from Oklahoma and E. Texas--They are wonderful people full of power and wisdom given to them by the Holy Ghost. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

Easter Sunday

PRAISE THE LORD is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of our Easter Sunday service. We watched the power of the Lord bring conviction to souls in need of salvation and giving many a much needed blessing. From what I hear our church was the talk of all others Sunday Night. Some even said that this was the best Easter service they had every been in. From what I hear we had the largest crowd in the surrounding areas for The Church of God. Again I say Praise the Lord. He's worthy of our praise. 93 in attendance isn't an impossible number -- see we're that much closer to 100. Lets all pray that we will see some of those that were in the alter back Wednesday and Sunday.

Often I'm reminded of this scripture; Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Sometimes we really just need to humble ourselves and pray and seek God's face then will we hear from heaven and then He will heal our land.

I praise the Lord so much for each of you that worked so hard with the choir or helping with props or whatever you did I feel blessed to have gotten to know each one of you! You are all truly a blessing to me and my family. My prayer is that the Lord will bless you and your family beyond measure.

Well I guess that about wraps up the update I hope you are all having a great week!

Don't forget we need three desserts for Sunday!

Also be thinking of how we can do a Spaghetti Supper for a VLB fund raiser.

Thanks again and God Bless!

New Blog

Well I went to update my old blog and poof it's gone. STRANGE--So anyway I decided to just make a new one and go on. I still plan to keep this mainly a VLB/Young Adult blog, but I'm sure that at times personal stuff will still drift in. I'm also planning to give weekly up dates on this and that, but no promises!

I also want to take this opportunity to give you a special invite to join us for our church services

Sunday School 10am-11am
Sunday Worship 11am-12pm (Children's Church Provided)
Wednesday Night Bible Study 7pm
Wednesday Nigh Gleaners for Children under 13 7pm

Pastor John Honeycutt

The Church of God
403 W. Peck Rd.
Harrisburg, Ar 72432

Anyway we are right in the middle of a fundraiser for our Young Adult Sunday School class and I must say that the Lord has been blessing our efforts. So far we've raised around $250.00 to use for outings for our class. I'm amazed to see people pay 30.00 + for a cake, pie, or even brownies. God is so Good. We've all enjoyed it and enjoyed watching God provide for a need.

Well I'm sure there is more to be said, but I need to get back to work. Feel free to leave comments and share things on here too. I look forward to hearing from some of my VLB's on here as well.

OH,One last thing--
We are planning an Easter Dinner following a Special Easter Service on Sunday (4/8) so please make plans to attend.

An Egg Hunt for the Children will also be hosted after the service so bring your kids and at least 6 eggs for a contest of best decorated eggs.

REMEMBER: The Joy of the Lord is your Strength.
